Car hits school van, 13 kids hurt

HUBBALLI: As many as 13 students of CIC English Pre-primary and Primary School at Adargunchi were injured after their school van was hit by a speeding car near Agadi Cross here on Saturday.
According to sources, the accident took place when the van was heading towards Palikoppa village from Agadi to drop the kids at their homes. When the van was taking a diversion at Agadi Cross, a car hit the van from behind.

Six students sustained serious injuries. All the injured have been admitted to the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Hospital in Hubballi. The kids are of class one to four and come from the surrounding villages of Adargunchi.

Former Kundagol MLA S I Chikkangoudar runs the school. Around 30-35 students, a cleaner and a woman employee were in the van when the accident took place, it is said. The van dropped some students in front of their houses at Agadi and Pala villages and the remaining kids were to be dropped at Tirumalakoppa, Palikoppa and Hoolikatti villages.

A student said a speeding car hit their mini van and one of the wheels of the van got separated. Hubballi rural police said four passengers of the car also suffered injuries and they have been admitted to a private hospital.
Anxious parents thronged the emergency ward of the KIMS. The injured are Shrishail, Kartik, Jairaj Radder, Pramod Manjunath, Channabasangouda, Punitgouda Patil, Sanjana P Patil, Sapna J Patil, Akash, Divya G Patil, Basavraj N Kunnur, Sahana P Patil and Samart Nandihalli. All  kids are out
of danger .
