Seven institutes from Karnataka among 100 best institutes in country; IISc tops list

BENGALURU: Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru has been ranked as the top university in the country for the second year in a row, in the National Institutional Ranking Framework by Ministry of Human Resource Development, which was released on Monday.
Along with IISc, some private and deemed universities and institutions of higher education in the State have secured spots in the top 100 universities of the country. The Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bengaluru, has been ranked 11, Indian Institute of Management Bengaluru has been ranked 25 and Manipal Academy of Higher Education, has been ranked 30.
The century-old University of Mysore ranked 57, National Institute of Technology, Surathkal (65), JSS University Mysore (74) and KLE Academy for Higher Education and Research, Belagavi (100), are the institutions from Karnataka that feature in the top 100 list.
