DAVANGERE: An Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) team on Thursday morning raided the house of S M Karibasappa, who works as a second division assistant at the Department of Commercial Taxes at Saraswathi Nagar extension and found huge properties and assets in excess of his known sources of income.  

According to sources, the team found that Karibasappa owns seven houses, five sites, a car worth `10 lakh, three motorbikes, eight acres of farm land, cash, gold and silver articles in his possession.
Three houses owned by Karibasappa are at Saraswathi Nagar in Davangere city, and four houses are situated at Nittuvalli extension near Ring Road.

The raids continued till late afternoon. Karibasappa had joined the Commercial Tax Department as a group D worker, and was promoted as second division assistant in 2010. He hails from Devarahalli village in Chennagiri taluk, ACB sources said.
