HUBBALLI: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a scathing attack on Siddaramaiah-government, terming it as ‘corrupt’ and ‘under-performing’. Addressing the BJP’s Parivarthan Yatre rally at Nehru Grounds here on Thursday, Adityanath criticised Siddaramaiah for the celebration of Tipu Jayanti.

He called upon people of Karnataka to dislodge the current government for a better one. “The current government, instead of worshipping Hanuman, has celebrated Tipu Jayanti. If people vote for the BJP in the upcoming elections, the government which worships Tipu, will not be there in Karnataka,” he said. “The present government has no respect for great saints and culture of the state. It involved in appeasement politics. By celebrating Tipu Jayanti, the government has dishonoured the saints and great warriors of the land,” he said.

He added: “It is a scared land of Lord Hanuman. The appeasement policy of the state has ruined its legacy.” “In Karnataka, protectors have become harassers and people here feel a kind of insecurity. The law and order has reached a new low. Several Hindu activists are killed brutally. But the government has not taken enough action to punish the accused. Hundreds of farmers have committed suicide and the government, instead of protecting them, is behaving senselessly,” he said.

“The farmers are under severe stress due to loan burden. The government should have taken steps to waive all kinds of loans, but it did nothing. In Uttar Pradesh, the state government has waived the loans availed by 86 lakh farmers from private, national and co-operative banks to the tune of`38,000 crore. The Karnataka government should have taken such a bold step,” he added.

“The Union Government has been benevolent in sanctioning grants to the state. If the people of Karnataka vote BJP to power, then the growth of the state will increase manifold,” Adityanath said. “The Congress party had tried to divide a community in Gujarat and here too, it is trying to do the same. The people of Gujarat have given a tight slap to the Congress for its divisive policy. Now, it is the turn of the people of Karnataka to give a tight slap to the party,” he said. “Only BJP can give good governance. It can ensure safety of the people and make the state prosper,” he said.
