Hubballi police help German national in distress

The Hubballi suburban police came to the rescue of a German national, who found herself in trouble after missing her train to New Delhi.

HUBBALLI: The Hubballi suburban police came to the rescue of a German national, who found herself in trouble after missing her train to New Delhi.

On Tuesday, Gabi Werner was supposed to catch the afternoon train from Hubballi. But by the time she reached the station, the train had already left.

As she could not get money through her credit card, she was left with no cash to buy another ticket. With her mobile battery dying, Gabi, approached the police. She went to the suburban police station, near the railway station, where she explained her situation.

Police inspector Muttanna Savargol and his staff responded positively and assured her of all necessary help. The police along with the railway authorities booked a ticket for her to New Delhi in the evening train the same day.

They also provided her lunch and water. The police spent Rs 2,000 for the ticket and also gave Gabi some cash for her expenses. They also dropped her at the railway station to broad the train at 9.50 pm.

Police said Gabi boarded a bus from Davangere on Tuesday. As she miscalculated the timing, she got late for her train. Gabi thanked the police team as she left Hubballi with mixed memories.
