4th round of RTE quota seat allotment to begin

The state department of public instruction is all set to conduct the fourth round of seat allotment for RTE seats.

BENGALURU: The state department of public instruction is all set to conduct the fourth round of seat allotment for RTE seats. Parents have already received message from the department asking them to opt for seats. But this move by the department has been opposed by school managements as classes for the present academic year began almost two months ago.

Officials of the department said the demand to conduct the fourth round came from parents who noted there were vacant seats in private schools. “Many parents made errors in selecting schools. This is an option to rectify it,” said an official.

D Shashi Kumar, general secretary of the Associated Managements of Primary and Secondary Schools in Karnataka, said, “Parents who get seats in the fourth round would claim a refund of the fees paid. Many parents did not wait for the allotment and completed admissions by paying the fees. If they get a seat under the quota, they would leave the school and demand a refund,” he said.
