BENGALURU: Annoyed by JD(S) holding a rally on his turf Chamarajpet and ranting against him, Chamarajpet MLA and party rebel Zameer Ahmed Khan said that JD(S) will not even be able to save its deposit in the constituency.

On Friday, JD(S) national president H D Deve Gowda attended a rally in Azad Nagar of Chamarajpet. During his speech, he said that he had walked through the slums of Chamarajpet so that Zameer could win the elections.

He added that the rebel candidates had used Kumaraswamy to further their political aspirations and that he had often heard Kumaraswamy saying that the only thing they had not done was feed him poison. Gowda also said that he would take it as a challenge and make sure that JD(S) candidate wins the coming elections from Chamarajpet.

Zameer, who is always quick to react to JD(S) barbs, on Saturday said that people from his constituency had not even attended the rally and had to be brought from neighbouring areas. “They have been trying for several months to upstage me. I am here because people want me as their leader. I will assure you that the JD(S) candidate will not even be able to save his deposit. On the off chance that their candidate wins, I will kill myself,” he said.

JD(S) leaders and rebel MLA have been waging a war of words in recent days, with Zameer blaming Kumaraswamy when Prajwal Revanna made a comment on the ‘suitcase culture’ in JD(S). ENS
