BENGALURU: A team of Income Tax officials from Chennai raided AIADMK Karnataka state secretary V Pugazhendhi's house on Thursday morning.

The raid at AIADMK state secretary V Pugazhendhi is among many raids that are being conducted in almost 200 places connected to Sasikala and her extended family spread across the country over suspected tax evasion, I-T officials said.

Pugazhendhi looks after AIADMK operations in Karnataka and is known to be close to AIADMK leaders Sasikala and TTV Dinakaran.

During the raid, Pugazhendhi and his family members were not allowed to communicate with others. However, I-T officials once allowed Pugazhendhi to call his lawyer.
