Potholes reappear in just 72 hours!

BENGALURU: As potholes go, Bengalureans have certainly seen worse. But these in the picture(left) are no ordinary ones. For it took only three days for the covered potholes to resurface like magic on Palace Road, Vasanth Nagar(right). This despite the BBMP using the state-of-the-art Python pothole fixing machine. That BBMP workers are racing against time to meet the CM’s deadline is evident in the quality of this piece of work.

Metres away from the patch, BBMP has replaced asphalted roads with concrete but has done only a quick-fix job with asphalt here, that commuters have often complained about.But the civic body blames BWSSB for the pothole mess. It says the leakage from water pipes on the stretch near the entrance to the iconic Bangalore Palace is washing away all their efforts.   

Shivaprakash, Executive Engineer, Major Roads Bengaluru East, said potholes resurface because of water leakage. “I will ask BWSSB to plug the leakage and re-asphalt the stretch,” he said.88% potholes filled:
