MYSURU: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah hit back at the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for attacking Karnataka government and the Congress party during his day-long visit to various parts of Karnataka on Sunday. He said the PM, who has managed to live on shallow promises for more than three years, has no reason to criticise his government which has come out with numerous welfare and development programmes, fulfilling aspirations of the people.

He said the NDA government has failed to stand by its words on waiving farm loans, bringing back black money and providing special package to drought-hit farmers. “Dozens of welfare programmes like Anna Bhagya, Ksheera Bhagya and others have won over the people. What has the BJP government done in the state in their tenure?” he asked.Siddaramaiah on Sunday took a dig at former power minister Shobha Karandlaje on whom an house committee is probing irregularities in power purchase and asked why she is panicking before the report is tabled.
