Man killed as Karnataka BJP president Yeddyurappa son’s car hits him

A 24-year-old died and another was injured when a car belonging to Shikaripura MLA B Y Raghavendra hit them near Madapura village of Honnali taluk, Davanagere district, around 9 pm on Thursday.

SHIVAMOGGA: A 24-year-old died and another was injured when a car belonging to Shikaripura MLA B Y Raghavendra hit them near Madapura village of Honnali taluk, Davanagere district, around 9 pm on Thursday. B Y Raghavendra is the son of BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa.

Police said Suresh (24), son of Goudara Malleshappa of Madapura village of Nyamathi taluk, died in the accident.

The accident took place when Raghavendra was on his way to Shikaripura on Thursday evening after completing a BJP party meeting held in Shivamogga.

Suresh and his friend had gotten down from an autorickshaw near Madapura Cross and were crossing the road when the SUV in which Raghavendra was travelling hit them.

Police said Suresh died on the spot while his friend sustained serious injuries and was admitted to Mc Gann hospital in Shivamogga.
