SHIVAMOGGA: Express photographer Shimoga Nandan was assaulted by a drunk youth after he tried to take the photo of a gang of bike-borne youths, who were riding recklessly and eve-teasing girls on their way from Abbalagere to Shivamogga, on Thursday.
Six youths on three bikes were screaming and also teasing girls along the way, including a lady Home Guard. They were apparently under the influence of alcohol after a birthday party. They saw Nandan capturing their misbehaviour on his mobile phone. One of the youths jumped off the bike and slapped Nandan.
Another photographer who was accompanying Nandan caught hold of the youth. Soon, a crowd gathered and thrashed the youth and took him to the police. He was taken for a medical test. Police are looking for the other accused. All youths are college students.
