BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa has categorically said he would not shift out of Shikaripura assembly constituency.

SHIKARIPUR:BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa has categorically said he would not shift out of Shikaripura assembly constituency.The Lok Sabha member who offered bagina to Anjanapura reservoir in the taluk on Thursday said, “when political stalwarts contested against me in Shikaripur constituency, people elected me. I would not leave the constituency in spite of pressure from the party. I will not change my constituency”.

Yeddyurappa, who is told by the BJP leadership to contest from Terdal constituency in Vijayapura district, had said on Wednesday that he would try to persuade the party high command to field him from Shikaripur.On Thursday, Yeddyurappa, however, expressed his gratitude to the party leadership for “reposing faith in him.

He said the BJP would come to power in the state in the upcoming assembly elections.The Lok Sabha member said foundation stone would be laid for railway tracks between Shivamogga and Ranebennur via Shikaripur soon.
