MANGALURU: A private college in Puttur, which is managed by RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, has allegedly suspended a student after he took a jibe at BJP national president Amit Shah through his Instagram status. Justin, a second year LL.B student of Vivekananda Law College run by Vivekananda Vidyavardhaka Sangha (VVS), is said to have changed his Instagram status to ‘Bundle Shah’ after the BJP leader addressed and interacted with thousands of students of VVS institutions a few days ago during his three-day visit to coastal Karnataka. Prabhakar Bhat is the president of VVS.

The student who took a dig at Shah had received pro and against comments and his post had became a talking point among the students and faculty, according to sources. The management which took serious offence to it allegedly suspended the student for 15 days, while some said it was for a week.

Sources said the college allegedly rolled back his suspension after the news became public. Justin’s parents were summoned to the college and asked to ‘discipline their son’.When contacted, college principal Prof K G Krishnamurthy denied that the student was suspended and said that there has been some confusion over the matter due to ‘wrong information’. He said the student’s parents were summoned to the college and he was warned in front of them.
