SHIVAMOGGA: The Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) condemned the recently announced budget by the state Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy who is the incumbent Finance Minister of Karnataka.

The ABVP alleged that the government has completely neglected the state education sector in its budget, and protested against it in the MRS road on Friday. The protestors claimed that the education sector was expecting certain developments and changes in the budget, but the budget released by the government has come as a major disappointment to the students from many sectors including the poor, scholars and the OBC, the ABVP stressed.

They further pointed out at the concerns of the needy students from SC/ST- over the bus passes and the government hostel developments , and slammed the government alleging that these issues are unaddressed in the budget. Moreover the ABVP complained that there should have been relief to the teaching and non-teaching staff in the education sector, which also went unaddressed.

They then said that the budget announced has come as a major disappointment to the state students and the education sector, and added that the protest is to oppose the baseless budget which the government has introduced without any vision. Meanwhile, the protest observed the participation of ABVP leaders including Sachin Raikar, Abhishek, Mallikarjun, Vinayak, Tilak, Hemanth, Santosh and others.
