Three pairs of trains to have MEMU coaches in Karnataka

BENGALURU: Three pairs of trains running with conventional coaches will be converted into eight-car Main Line Electrical Multiple Units (MEMU) services from July 25.

The train numbers too have been revised.

According to an official release, Marikuppam - KSR Bengaluru - Marikuppam Passenger (train 56509/56510) will be converted into MEMU with the new train numbers 66545/66546. Bangarpet-Marikuppam-Bangarpet Passenger (train 56505/56506) will be converted to MEMU 66547/66548. Similarly, Jolarpettai - KSR Bengaluru - Jolarpettai Express (16519/16520) will run as Jolarpettai - KSR Bengaluru - Jolarpettai Express (16519/16520).

The MEMU train, which will run on electricity, will have six motor cars and two trailing cars.
