Three startups win Rs 34 Lacs each in Bengaluru

BENGALURU:  Imagine being able to reserve seats in air-conditioned buses in the city during peak hours. A start-up solution called Cityflo might soon let you do this through a mobile application.

Focussing on providing services during peak hours to improve access in public buses, Cityflo was among three winners of ‘Better Bus Challenge’, an open innovation contest organised by World Resources Institute (WRI) India Ross Center for Sustainable Cities.

Two other startups - Cell Propulsion (providing a kit to transform buses into electric buses) and Small Spark Concepts (to improve combustion efficiency in buses) were each presented with a grant of `34 lakh at a conference organised on sustainable development and mobility in the city on Saturday.
