BENGALURU:  A day after Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy suggested to restrict movement of media personnel inside Vidhana Soudha, his office has made a complete U-turn. Sensing the outrage over Chief Minister’s plans to accord a designated space for media with an intent to stop journalists from moving around Soudha and confronting ministers, the CMO has now stated that there was no restriction in the first place.

“There was never a restriction on media and there will never be one. The Chief Minister only suggested a designated place for TV journalists where concerned ministers and officials will regularly address them. His statements were mischievously twisted to give an impression that he was imposing restrictions,” said an official of the CMO. DCP in-charge of Vidhana Soudha security also confirmed to The New Indian Express that no changes in security arrangements have been affected so far. While some mediapersons were stopped on the third floor of Vidhana Soudha on Tuesday, no such obstruction was created on Wednesday.
