KOLLAM: Thiruvananthapuram colleges have emerged as the front runners for the top position in the Kerala University Youth Festival progressing here.

 Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology is leading with 17 points when 10 results were announced on the second day of the competition. Mar Ivanios, Medical College and Women’s College, all of Thiruvananthapuram, are behind with 10 points each while All Saints College and Music College are in the third position.

 A total of 27 events were held in eight venues of the festival on the second day and the Mohinyattom competition which held on the first day after the inaugural function was completed in the wee hours of today.

` Changing Youth Festivals’ was the theme of the open forum held as part of the festival. Winners of the previous youth festivals participated and interacted with the audience. Kollam SN Women’s College bagged the first prize for the cultural procession held on Monday in connection with the inaugural function and Sree Narayana College of  Technology Ayathil, Kollam,  bagged the second prize.
