THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Dr Ramani, one of the prime accused in the Total 4 U case, who had disappeared ever since the rejection of her bail plea by the Supreme Court, surrendered before the Additional CJM court in Thiruvananthapuram on Friday.

The Additional CJM court rejected all her applications for bail in five cases and remanded her in judicial custody till May 28. Earlier, Dr Ramani accompanied by her advocate arrived at the court by 10.30 a m and remained in the court hall. When all the five bail pleas filed by her were rejected, she told the court that she was a TB patient and that she should not be remanded to Crime Branch custody. She requested the court to make arrangements to get her admitted to the hospital. The court informed her that the fact that she was a TB patient has been recorded in the order and she could get medical assistance while in custody. By 4 pm, she was remanded. She was also asked to file a bail plea with the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court on May 18.

It was one and half months back that the Supreme Court rejected her bail plea.
