Keys of 50 houses to be handed over today

PARAVOOR: The keys of 50 houses constructed by the Fr Varghese Thaniath Charitable Trust, Thuruthipuram, will be handed over to people belonging to the economically weaker sections in Paravoor

PARAVOOR: The keys of 50 houses constructed by the Fr Varghese Thaniath Charitable Trust, Thuruthipuram, will be handed over to people belonging to the economically weaker sections in Paravoor, Vypeen, and Kottapuram areas, at a function to be held on Sunday.

With the handing over of the houses on Sunday, the Charitable Trust would complete the construction of 1,350 houses for the poor in the last 15 years. The funds for the construction of the houses are being mobilized by Fr Varghese Thaniath, who is a vicar in Austria.

The construction of 10 more houses for the poor would be launched at the function on Sunday.

Fisheries Minister S Sarma will inaugurate the function at Paravoor Vyapara Bhavan Auditorium on Sunday. K P Dhanapalan MP will hand over the keys to the beneficiaries.

Fr Varghese Thaniyath will distribute the education scholarships. V D Satheesan will preside over the function. Fr Francis Thaniyath will explain the features of the scheme.

Trust chairman Jossy Wales will speak.

Fr Varghese Thaniyath is on a mission to implement his lifelong ambition, 'House for Every Poor Family' in the rural areas in Kottapuram diocese spread over Ernakulam and Thrissur districts. He is being supported in his mission by the parishioners in Austria and the students of Purs Mittal School, Bludenz, Austria.
