THRISSUR: Mata Amritanandamayi, head of the Amritanandamayi Math, has called upon the people to preserve natural wealth for the future.

She was giving a discourse as part of the anniversary celebrations of Mata’s Brahmasthana Temple here on Saturday.

“The natural wealth we enjoy is neither ours nor that of our ancestors. It belongs to the future generation and we are mere custodians,” she said. According to her, “Anything that does not contribute to social good is worthless.”

“Harmony between science and spirituality can bring about true progress. One should love one’s fellow beings,” she  added.

After the discourse, she met her devotees. Former Union Minister O Rajagopal and other dignitaries received Mata. She will meet the devotees on Sunday.
