Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) Ernakulam District Project Officer K M Aliyar landed in a soup after he issued a notice asking teachers to attend a SSA function scheduled to be held on Tuesday wearing green blouses.
The office of the Education Minister was quick to react by ordering Aliyar’s suspension pending inquiry, after the issue snowballed into a controversy with a section of teachers raising strong protest.
The SSA function to be held on Tuesday also suffered as it was also cancelled. The General Education secretary has been asked to conduct an inquiry into the issue and submit a detailed report to Education Minister P K Abdu Rabb.
