The Justice P A Mohammed Committee for Self-financing Colleges has issued conditional approval, on a temporary basis, to the new prospectus for MBBS admissions for 2012 at Karakonam Dr Somervell Memorial Medical College.
The committee which met on Monday decided to issue the approval after incorporating the amendments suggested by the committee.
Meanwhile, Karuna Medical College, Palakkad, submitted its prospectus and notification for admission for the committee’s consideration.
The committee directed Kannur Medical College, Anjarakandy, to submit its prospectus for admission within a week.
While the Principal of Karuna Medical College appeared before the committee, the management’s representatives appeared for Kannur Medical College.
The Admission Supervisory Committee will consider the prospectus of these two colleges soon.
P A Mohammed panel gets extension
KOCHI: The Justice P A Mohammed Committee for Self-financing Colleges, which was to complete its term on Tuesday, got an extension till new committees are formed.
The government order issued by Higher Education Principal Secretary K M Abraham said that the state government has extended the term of the Admission Supervisory Committee and Fee Regulatory Committee for Professional Colleges till new committees are formed.
The committee, originally constituted on July 5, 2006, was reconstituted on July 4, 2009.
“Many pending matters need to be addressed.
That’s why the government extended the term of the existing committees till new committees are formed,” said Justice P A Mohammed.
