CPM man’s killer held

The Kottayam West police have arrested a person accused in the murder of a CPM activist in Kannur nearly three years ago.

Muhammed Ashraf alias Muhammed Ali, 32, of Chemmankattil House in Shoranur, Palakkad, was arrested from near Kottayam KSRTC bus station.

According to the police, he was part of the quotation gang accused in the murder of CPM activist Raju, hailing from Peravoor, Kannur.

The incident occurred on November 6, 2009, when Raju was returning home. 

Six persons out of the twelve accused were held in connection with the murder.

The main accused in the case is Ismayil of hrikkadarippoyyil.
