An agitated mob blocked National Highway 66 at Edappal junction over the death of a Muthoor native. Vilakathara Narayanan, 45, was drowned in a pool on Sunday evening while trying to escape from the police.
According to the police, the Ponnani police were trying to nab some people, including Narayanan, who were playing cards. The members of the team ran away in different directions on seeing the police. Another person, Abhilash, was injured while trying to escape.The people blocked the National Highway seeking action against officials.
