Vinod Kumar takes top cop award

Deputy Superintendent of Police (administration), Kottayam V G Vinod Kumar won the best investigating officer award, 2011, instituted by the Government of Kerala in memory of the late former Inspector General N Chandrasekharan. The award carries a gold medal, a cash prize of Rs 5,000 and a certificate of merit.

The award is in recognition of his commendable job in nabbing the accused in the murder case of an Oriya couple. Vinod Kumar arrested the culprits from Silapathar in Assam, with the help of cops Saji, Ajith and Kuriakose.
