BJP seeks NIA probe into activist’s death

BJP state president V Muraleedharan on Tuesday sought a National Investigation Agency(NIA) probe into the death of ABVP activist Vishal, who was undergoing treatment after getting injured in the clashes at Christian College, Chengannur.

Muraleedharan alleged that the religious fundamental cells are still active in the state and that the ruling party has failed to counter the menace. In the T J Joseph palm chopping case, the police was able to take only 28 people into custody out of the total 58 who were charge sheeted.

Several state leaders of the NDF have been quizzed in connection with the case but no action has been taken against those leaders who are involved in the crime, he said.

The NDF members are unleashing fundamental activities across the state, he added.
