CC ratifies action against Gopi Kottamurickal

CPM general secretary Prakash Karat said here on Wednesday that the CPM central committee had ratified the decision to expel Gopi Kottamurickal, former Ernakulam district secretary of the party.

Gopi has been expelled on the ground of misusing the party office for immoral activities. The decision in this regard was taken by the state committee on June 24, and ratified by the central committee during its meet on July 21 and 22.

Being a member of the state committee, action against Gopi  Kottamuricakal had to be ratified by the central committee.Karat also reported that the central committee had ratified action initiated against K A Chackochan and P S Mohanan, both district secretariat members, and a few others who were found to be involved in placing a hidden camera to trap Gopi Kottamurickal.

This was stated in a press release issued  by the party after the state committee meeting.
