‘Future of Communism bright’

CPM general secretary Prakash Karat visited Justice V R Krishna Iyer at the latter’s residence ‘Sadgamaya’ here on Friday. Karat was in the city in connection with the zonal reporting of CPM.

During the meeting, Iyer said that the future of Communism in India is bright and the existing conditions in the country are favourable for the growth of the movement. “In a country where poverty remains a major issue,  Communism is one ideology that people can rely upon for their progress,” Iyer said. He also asked Karat to take the party to new heights and wished him good luck to raise to the levels of a leader who rewrites history.

Meanwhile, Karat said that sheer will and determination combined with optimism are the strengths of Iyer.

“His character has influenced me a lot. Whenever I reach Kochi, I try to find time to pay a visit to Iyer,” Karat said.

P Rajeev MP and CPM district secretary M V Govindan also accompanied Karat.
