Karumalil Sukumaran passes away

Former Municipal chairman of Kollam  and veteran Congress leader Karumalil Sukumaran passed away at a private hospital on Saturday morning.  He was 70 and had been suffering from fistula and age-related ailments.

He was cremated at Mulankadakam Crematorium on Saturday evening. Earlier, people from all walks of life, including hundreds of party leaders and activists, offered tributes to the leader when the body was kept at the DCC office and later at the Corporation office.

Chief Minister Ommen Chandy paid tributes to the mortal remains of Karumalil Sukumaran.
