Migrant labourers clash, 11 injured

As many as 11 persons were injured when migrant workers from West Bengal and Bihar clashed with each other at a labour camp at Chalamoodu at Kazhakootam here on Sunday night. Those injured have been admitted to the Medical College Hospital and the condition of at least two of them are reported to be serious. According to Thumpa sub-inspector Raveendra Kumar, the incident started around 9 p.m. at the labour camp when two groups of migrant workers from Bihar and Bengal started attacking each other after an altercation between some of them. He said that some of the labourers were in an inebriated condition which led to the brawl. The two groups clashed with weapons including logs and rods.

The Thumpa police registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
