K K Rema, wife of slain RMP leader T P Chandrasekharan, has welcomed the statement of Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan backing her demand for a CBI investigation into the murder.
The stance of a senior leader like VS for a CBI probe to expose the larger conspiracy behind the murder is most welcome, said Rema.
Earlier on Wednesday, Rema had urged Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan to conduct a CBI inquiry. The government had assured earlier that the inquiry would be handed over to any agency if Chandrasekharan’s wife demanded and I believe the government will keep its promise, added Rema.
Left Co-ordination Committee General Secretary K S Hariharan also welcomed the statement of V S Achuthanandan. The Kerala police have limitations to go ahead with further investigations. So a CBI probe is needed to expose the conspiracy, he added.
