'Mafia behind Emerging Kerala'

The NSS on Sunday came down heavily on the UDF Government, launching a blistering attack on the recently-concluded ‘Emerging Kerala 2012’ meet in Kochi.

NSS general secretary G Sukumaran Nair lashed out against the ‘Emerging Kerala’ initiative alleging that a mafia was behind it eyeing land in the state.

He was inaugurating the platinum jubilee celebrations of the Changanasserry NSS union here.

“Though some people are trying to show the ‘Emerging Kerala’ initiative as an attempt to save the state, actually they are trying to get their deals done. They are eyeing our land.

Even the Chief Minister has been misled by them. If taking over of land in the name of development initiatives is not stopped, the government will have to face severe consequences,” Sukumaran Nair said.

Assailing Planning Board Vice-Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia for his controversial statement on the state’s agro sector, he said that Ahluwalia is campaigning for North Indian mafia.
