Horti Expo begins

The second International Horti Expo got off to a colourful start at the Police Parade Ground here on Friday.

The mega exhibition is designed to showcase products and services related to horticulture diversity and productivity of the country.

Programmes aimed at educating the farmers on post-harvest management and exchange of indigenous technological know-how are also taking place along with the expo.

Agriculture Minister K P Mohanan inaugurated the expo. A P Abdullakutty MLA presided over the function. K Sudhakaran MP, District Panchayat President K A Sarala and Municipal Chairperson M C Sreeja offered felicitations. Stalls designed to introduce the modern agricultural methods of Norway, Sri Lanka and Netherlands are the main attraction of the exhibition.

As many as 250 stalls including that of various horticulture missions in the country have also been set up as part of the show.
