The joint council meet of the Yoga Kshema Sabha held as part of its state conference here was inaugurated on Saturday by Rural Development Minister K C Joseph.
Addressing the meet, the minister said that the proposal for the formation of a Forward community corporation was under the consideration of the government.
He said that the government was planning to introduce several welfare measures for the economically backward section of the forward communities.
The minister also said that the government would take into consideration all the demands raised by the Yoga Kshema Sabha while forming the Forward community corporation. He said that the government would also take measures to protect temple-art forms, folk arts and ancient ‘illams’ in the state. The president of the Sabha, Akkeeraman Kalidasan Namboodirippad, presided over the meet.
