The action to be taken against Superintendent of Police Crime Records Bureau V R Reghu Varma, who allegedly showered abuses on Chief Secretary K Jayakumar, will be decided on Monday.

Deputy Commissioner (Law and Order) and Commissioner-in-charge Putta Vimaladitya will submit the final report on the incident to DGP K S Balasubramaniam on Monday.

“I have asked the DCP to revise the preliminary report by adding some missing details. Immediate action will be taken based on the report,” the DGP told Express.

It is learnt that the DCP had been asked to include statements of more witnesses.

Reghu Varma who came to the Chief Secretary’s office on Saturday had allegedly showered abuses on the top official for excluding his name from the list of officials to be considered for conferring IPS.  The list of officials is prepared by a screening committee comprising the Chief Secretary, the Home Secretary and the DGP.

Assistant Commissioner, Cantonment, M G Haridas had submitted his report to the DCP on Saturday itself.
