Ramesan Nair’s ‘Gurupournami’ released

A complete blend of the spiritual and practical aspects of life is what Sree Narayana Guru taught society, opined Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan.

As part of the release of S Ramesan Nair’s ‘Gurupournami’, a collection of poems on Sree Narayana Guru’s life, a copy of the book was handed over to SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan here on Thursday.  Thiruvanchoor pointed out that the book is the foremost attempt to bring Guru’s  message to the public. Justice V R Krishna Iyer, who presided over the function, said that Narayana Guru’s messages can bring in a revolution in society.

“For the creation of a new Kerala, we should follow his words. He was a great visionary who taught us to go beyond the barriers of caste and religion,” Justice Iyer said.

“The simple lyrics written by Ramesan Nair can touch human hearts,” said Vellappally Natesan  after receiving the book. He announced his decision to buy 1,000 copies of the book and added that the message of the Guru should reach all households in the state.

Writer C Radhakrishnan pointed out that ‘Gurupournami’ aptly vindicates the lack of sufficient works on the literary value of the  Guru’s message.
