KSEB bill payment set to go online

After enabling online electricity bill payment facility in the state capital, the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) is planning to extend it to all its consumers, including the 85 lakh-strong domestic category, across the state.

If things go as planned, this would be done within two weeks.

Trials are on to extend the facility to consumers under all the 729 electrical sections in the state.

Once the system is in place, payment can be made through net banking or debt/credit cards on KSEB website www.kseb.in where a link has been provided for the purpose. The KSEB has total 1.05 crore consumers.

“We are in the process of running the trials to ensure the system is fool-proof. There are a number of factors involved in the mechanism, such as uploading the consumer’s bill,” KSEB Chairman M Sivasankar said.

Once the facility is formally launched, the consumer will just have to enter the consumer number, electrical section code, bill number and either e-mail id or mobile number and make the payment. There will be a transaction charge, which will be deducted from the consumer’s bank account. The facility has been enabled by KSEB software ORUMA.
