NIA court verdict on Nazeer likely

Three persons accused in the Kashmir Recruitment case, including Thadiyantavide Nazeer, were brought to Kochi from Bangalore on Monday

Three persons accused in the Kashmir Recruitment case, including Thadiyantavide Nazeer, were brought to Kochi from Bangalore on Monday to be produced before the National Investigation Agency Special Court, which will pronounce its order in the case on Tuesday.

The three persons were also accused in the Bangalore bomb blast had been lodged in Bangalore Central Prison. According to prison sources, Nazeer, Safas and another accused, were at Bangalore Central Prison for the trial of the Bangalore bomb blast case.

They were transported in a high-security vehicle from Bangalore to Kochi, to be produced for the order in the Kashmir Recruitment case. The NIA court here is likely to convict the accused persons in the case.

The other accused in the case are currently lodged at the Ernakulam Sub Jail. The police have arranged stringent security measures around the NIA Special Court considering the gravity of the case.

“This is one of the most sensational terrorist cases in the state which raised alarm in the national security agencies about the presence of extremist elements in the state. Four Malayalis were killed on the Kashmir border after they were trying to sneak into PoK. Considering its gravity, the security will be on high-alert on Tuesday,” a police official said.

Abdul Jaleel, Thadiyantavide Nazir, Abdul Wali of Pakistan, Badaruddin, Abdul Jabbar, K P Sabir, Sarfaraz Navas, Sainudheen, M H Faizal, P Mujeeb, Safas, Muhammad Naynar, Firoz, Sabir P Buhari, Muhammad Navas, P K Anas, Shanuj, Abdul Hameed, Ebrahim Maulavi and Ummar Farooq are the accused persons in the case.

K P Sabir and Abdul Wali, who were also booked, are still absconding.
