In a swift and strategic move, Government Chief Whip and Kerala Congress (M) vice-chairman P C George demanded the senior Congress leader and Defence Minister A K Antony to take over the leadership of the state wing of the Congress party to tide over the crisis prevailing here.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Saturday, George said that Antony should come back to state politics. “Once Antony takes over the mantle of the state administration, corruption will be eradicated and the State Congress will be strengthened as well,” he said.

George also unleashed a scathing attack against Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, stating that he is behind the entire crisis prevailing in the UDF. “Thiruvanchoor is damaging and destroying the UDF government. He is the man who was behind bringing up the family issues of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy into the Legislative Assembly.

He had accessed V S Achuthanandan through the controversial middle agent, T G Nandakumar, to raise the issue on the floor of the house, and I have all the evidence in this regard,” George said, adding that a conspiracy was held at the PWD rest house in Kottayam regarding the matter.

George added that Thiruvanchoor was behind the attack against him that was reported in Thodupuzha recently.

“Thiruvanchoor was the man behind the entire controversies in the state, including the solar scam,” George alleged.
