Strict action against Tomin: Thiruvanchoor

Stringent measures would be initiated against Tomin Thachankary on the basis of a report submitted by DGP K S Balasubramanian which accused him of serious breach of service conduct, Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan has said.

Recently, the government has issued an order promoting Thachankary to the post of ADGP.

It is learnt that the report, based on the performance appraisal of controversial Central cadre officers above the age of 50, was submitted to Chief Secretary E K Bharat Bhushan last month.

The second phase of the appraisal will be carried out by a team consisting of of the State DGP and a DGP from another state.

The Union Personnel Department would initiate action against Thachankary on the basis of the report of this committee, sources said.

The order to promote Thachankary was issued after the Central Administrative Tribunal directed the government to consider the promotion as the inquiry against him was lagging.
