Referring to the reinduction of K B Ganesh Kumar into the UDF ministry, KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala said that it is the prerogative of the Chief Minister to allot a portfolio to anyone.

“The CM will decide upon it after discussions in the UDF,” Ramesh said. “I don’t want to meddle in the topic. I’ll be happy with whatever decision the Chief Minister takes.

The good and bad things of the decision should be borne by him,” a guarded Ramesh told ‘Express’.

Meanwhile, Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan came out strongly against the move. “Induction of a filthy person like Ganesh Kumar again cannot be approved.

The Chief Minister is the master brain behind the settlement of charges against him after a Rs 2-crore deal,” he alleged.

Interestingly, Government Chief Whip P C George, who was instrumental in raking up the charges against Ganesh Kumar thereby leading to his ouster from the cabinet, has made a volte-face now.

“Ganesh will come only second to a minister in terms of indecent behaviour,” he quipped, apparently referring to his new target, Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan.
