Six injured in road mishap

Six people including four women were injured as an autorickshaw in which they were travelling hit a KSRTC bus near Kalathode at Thrissur on Wednesday.

The injured auto passengers Kamarudheen, 48, of Yarathu Valappil, his wife Rukkiya, 42, Ayishumma, 70, Thasni, 17 and Thansi, 16 and auto driver Murali, 53, Manappadi Vettil, Anchery, have been admitted to a private hospital at Thrissur.

The accident occurred in the morning when Kamarudheen and family members were returning home after attending Bakrid prayer held in the city. The KSRTC bus which was coming from Palakkad hit the auto head-on.

In the impact of the collision, the six were trapped inside the auto, the police said. Of the injured, the condition of Ayishumma is said to be critical, the police added. In another accident, a 45-yr-old woman was seriously injured when a car hit the motor cycle on which she was travelling.

The injured Lissy Paul, Padikkala Veettil, East Fort, has been admitted to Jubilee Mission Hospital.
