Stemade Biotech launches dental stem cell bank in Kozhikode

Have you ever thought of finding a cure for your chronic disorders from the teeth that you throw away? If no, it is possible! In what could be termed as a path-breaking concept in healthcare, Stemade Biotech, a pioneer in dental stem cell preservation, has launched its operations on stem cell preservation in Kozhikode. It is KCK Dental which got the franchise of Stemade for stem cell operation in Kozhikode. Stem cells collected from the dental pulp of your throwaway teeth can be used to treat disorders of the bone, cartilage and liver and diseases such as diabetes and arthritis. First, children should register their names in the stem cell bank for a fee. Registered children can hand over their milk teeth when they fall and the bank will preserve them for their future use. Ninety per cent of the disorders in the country are tissue or organ related; so, if we can replace tissues it will be an ultimate cure for diseases. Unlike blood transfusion from one person to the other, tissue transfer is not possible as one person’s tissue does not match the other’s. Here comes the need to have stem cell bank. We already have stem cell banks of bone marrow, menstrual blood and umbilical cord. However, there are many practical difficulties involved in these. But when it comes to dental stem cell, it is a painless process as falling of teeth is natural and they are throwaway materials. “What the public needs to do is to register with us and hand over the teeth of their children after they fall; we are here to preserve and regenerate them. When you develop any disorder in future we will have your tissue in our bank which can be replaced with the damaged tissues, thus curing your diseases,” says Mohammed Shyjal K from KCK Dental. He also says that common diseases like diabetes, arthritis and so on have no cure now and all we can do is just treat them without curing it. “But dental stem cell preservation is the best solution for all such disorders,” says Shyjal.
