Intelligence agencies have begun efforts to locate a Keralite, who was reportedly involved in the illegal supply of fuel to an US ship detained off the Tuticorin coast.

However, state police officials confirmed that so far they have not received any request for information from the Tamil Nadu ‘Q’ Branch.

“It has been confirmed that the vessel, MV Seaman Guard Ohio, had an agent in Kochi. However, we have no information about supply of fuel from Kochi.

Most probably, the fuel might have been supplied to the US vessel mid-sea from some small fishing vessel. Anyway, we are trying to locate the individual and efforts are on,” police sources said.

Intelligence officials have collected berthing details of the vessel at Kochi from the Coast Guard.

As per reports, the vessel was berthed at Kochi for three days for bunkering and logistics.
