CPI-M denies role in attack on Chandy

The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) Sunday denied any involvement in the attack on Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy in the state's Kannur district, that left him injured.

State CPI-M secretary Pinnarayi Vijayan said his party had no role in the attack.

Speaking on similar lines, Communist Party of India state secretary Panniyan Ravindran asserted that the Left Democratic Front never does this type of acts.

Chandy's car was stoned by suspected CPI-M activists in Kannur, as he was arriving to attend the annual athletics meet of Kerala Police. He was injured in the forehead when a piece of glass struck him.
