Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has said that great efforts were needed to make use of the various Central projects. He was speaking after inaugurating the modern fish market and KSRTC bus waiting shed at Ettumanoor.
He said only a few states have adopted social safety projects like Kerala. But still, the income of the state is less. In such a situation, there is no option but to make better use of the Central projects, he said. According to him, 39 fish markets are being launched in the state at a cost of `75 crore. The Fisheries Department has submitted a proposal to start 11 more markets. If this is accepted, there would be `100-crore projects in this sector, he said.
