Mannarasala temple fete draws devotees

Thousands of devotees participated  in the pooyam festival at the  Nagaraja temple, Mannarasala, held as part of the ayilyam festival on Sunday.

Thousands of devotees participated  in the pooyam festival at the  Nagaraja temple, Mannarasala, held as part of the ayilyam festival on Sunday.

Mannarasala Valiyamma Umadevi Antharjanam  performed ucha pooja on pooyam day in front of the idols of sarpayakshi and nagaraja. Pooyam thozhal started after the pooja. Thousands of devotees  participated.

The pooyam feast began at 11 am at the Mannarasala UP school ground. 

Antharjanam visited the temple along with her family members in the evening.

Antharjanam will perform pooja to the deities of sarpa yakshi and nagarajav between 12 and 12.30 noon on Monday.

K Omanakuttyamma  performed music concert. The ayilyam thozhal will be held on Monday.

The doors of the sanctum sanctorum of the temple will open at 3.30 am for ayilyam poojas.  Ayilyam ezhunnallathu will begin at 1 pm.

Doordarsan will make live telecast of the ayilyam ezhunnallath at 1.30pm on Monday. The KSRTC has arranged special bus services to various parts of the district and Kottayam and Pathanamthitta districts.
