‘Saritha presented Sreedharan Nair as solar investor’

The secret statement of Konni-based businessman Mallelil Sreedharan Nair says Saritha introduced Sreedharan Nair to the Chief Minister as a prospective investor in the solar energy project at Palakkad Kinfra Park. He met Chandy when Selvaraj MLA was in the chamber.

The Chief Minister accepted a memorandum from Sreedharan Nair, who was introduced by Saritha as the president of the Crusher Owners Association. Sreedharan Nair, in the statement, said he came to the ground floor of the North Block in the lift along with the Chief Minister and Saritha.

Sreedharan Nair said he came to know about the solar panel project through an advertisement and rang up Saritha who was introduced as the south regional head of Team Solar. Saritha also made arrangements for meeting the firm’s CEO B R Nair alias Biju Radhakrishnan. She made an appointment with Sreedharan Nair and met him at his office in May 2012. Since then she had talked to him over phone many a time and met him at his office.

She convinced him on the prospects of setting up a solar panel unit in Palakkad Kinfra Park, which could supply power to the KSEB grid.

Saritha collected an advance of `40 lakh in three cheques as the promoters’ contribution of `6 crore, the rest being managed through 60 per cent subsidy from the government and bank loan.

She drew the money from Sreedharan Nair’s account in IDBI Pathanamthitta branch, and started to evade his phone calls since January, 2014.
